Whether you are starting out or want to brush up what you have learned in the past, this DVD course is designed to help you achieve better piano playing skills in a fun way (and you can take this course in your home).

What is so good about learning to play to play the piano is the numerous music books and song books that you will be able to use to play all your favorite songs. And the hours of entertainment you will have if you learn to play.  There is something really great about the sound of a piano – it is such a wonderful instrument to learn to play. You may not be hooked on old musicals (such as The Music Man, West Side Story, or My Fair Lady) or Beatles songs and really good Jazz music and like me, but sheet music with popular songs or classical music is very easy to find – in almost any genre.

Many people start with piano lessons to be able to play electronic keyboards in bands, too. Or on an entirely different track, some use their skills to accompany the children’s chorus at their church. Of course, playing for the public is not something you can do immediately. Focus on the basics and keep practicing – there is no limit to how much you can achieve if you are determined and persistent. It has to start somewhere, and video lessons are a great alternative to more expensive private lessons.

For adults who want to learn to play the piano, there are few good choices (many courses start out with children’s songs that become boring and students are uninspired and quit taking lessons). I can remember taking piano lessons and if only I could have a rewind option for those times I was stuck. With private lessons, I had to wait until the next time I saw my teacher to get help with whatever was stopping me from playing a song. With video lessons on DVDs, you can replay your lessons and rewind as much as you need to.

Learn and Master Piano was created for adult students – of course a teenager could easily take the course as well. The music you will learn to play is all styles of music, including popular music – not those “baby” songs many courses use to teach you to play. And with popular music, rock, jazz and blues, you are familiar with the songs and they are far easier for you to learn than only classical music (which some other lessons are limited to). This course is the most complete video course on the market (I guess you can tell I am excited to share what I know about it). I think it is an awesome course for anyone who wants to learn to play the piano, because of the step-by-step manner that it is taught. And the instructor is Will Barrow, a Grammy-Award Winning Composer and Arranger.

What is included in the course?

  • 14 DVDs
  • 5 play-along CDs
  • a 100+ page lesson book
  • clearly demonstrated lessons which include popular music
  • a student support website to ask the instructors questions, chat with other students and track your progress
  • Price: $249 – or only $149 when there is a hundred dollar off sale!

One thing you can be sure of with any of the Legacy Learning courses. If you are not 100% satisfied when you recieve your DVDs, you can ask for a full refund. That is something else that rarely happens with private piano lessons! If you are thinking that you are tired of putting off doing something great for yourself (or you think this would make a good gift for someone you care about), please go look over the pages with details about this course at:

Learn and Master Piano – I rate this 5 stars!

Styles of music covered include:

  • Rock - including early Rock classics
  • Classical – Many very recognizable melodies, which have been taught to piano students for a long time.
  • Ragtime - Such as Scott Joplin’s “The Entertainer”
  • Country Piano – with the embellishments that make country piano legendary.
  • Modern Pop Piano – Play the sounds of the latest contemporary songs you hear on the radio.
  • Boogie-Woogie – Fun rhythmic music!
  • Blues Piano – Blues flavored music from New Orleans to Memphis to St. Louis.
  • Jazz Piano – Gain valuable insight to theorizing, chord accompanying, and improvising that are the heart of jazz piano.
  • Latin Piano – Learn how to play a fiery montuno rhythm or a cool bossa groove to give your playing some Latin spice.

Here is an example of one feature of the course that I think is really cool. There are animated visuals of the keyboard showing what notes to play in real time:

Don’t forget that in addition to the lesson book and the videos on DVDs, there are CDs with over 120 music tracks that allow you to play along with the instructor for practice – sort of like having your own concert.

Go check out the other information about the course. Should you decide to try it, I wish you all the best in your journey to become a piano player!
